Sapporo Dome provides a comfortable, eco-friendly environment for exciting spectating.

Sapporo Dome opened in June 2001 as a unique stadium with a baseball field of artificial turf and movable soccer field of natural turf. The dome was a venue for games of the 2002 FIFA World CupTM, and it’s the home stadium of the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters, a baseball team in Japan’s professional Pacific League.
Sapporo Dome is equipped with a natural-gas cogeneration system for environmental preservation and energy conservation. Exhaust heat from electricity generation is used for air conditioning, heating, water heating and snow-melting. The generated electricity, supplemented by purchased electricity, is used for lighting and the like at the dome.
