President‘s Message

In 2021, Hokkaido Gas celebrated the 110th anniversary of its founding in 1911. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our customers, associates, and shareholders for their continued patronage and support.
The business environment surrounding the Kitagas Group is undergoing significant changes, including changes in social structure due to a declining population and an aging society with a falling birthrate as well as efforts to become carbon neutral and the need to ensure energy security in response to resource procurement risks and major disasters.
Under these circumstances, the Kitagas Group has formulated the Kitagas Group Management Plan "Challenge 2030", which positions 2030 as the interim point with sights set on the carbon neutral era after 2050, in order to create a comfortable society by optimizing energy and the environment.
We will continue to advocate functional and effective energy conservation through the promotion of integrated energy service business, and will explore all means and possibilities to prepare for decarbonization, aiming to peak out CO2 emissions as early as possible after 2030.
In Phase 1 (2022-2024) of "Challenge 2030," we are promoting the expansion of our customer base by maximizing the spread of natural gas, establishing systems that can flexibly respond to changes in the external environment, such as next-generation platforms and a common information infrastructure that will serve as the core of our digital technology utilization, and fundamentally reforming our business structure to enhance our earning power and establish a solid business and financial foundation based on high added value.
The Kitagas Group will continue to develop its comprehensive energy service business with the utmost priority on a "safe, secure, and stable supply," and will strive to become a corporate group that grows together with the community by promoting initiatives for disaster-resistant urban development in addition to reducing and eliminating carbon emissions through energy conservation.
We look forward to your continued support.
